Premier is the sharp end of our club — the top of a five-team pyramid, playing in the top flight of the Bay Area’s most competitive amateur league. If you’ve played at a high level and you’re looking for a serious Sunday game with a real club behind it, we want to hear from you.
Who we look forPlayers with competitive backgrounds — college, academy, semi-pro or high-level club — who are comfortable in a possession-based, dynamic style of play. Every position considered, every season.
Where we playSundays in San Francisco — Beach Chalet, Crocker Amazon and historic Boxer Stadium. Weekly training at Gilman Fields in Berkeley, by invitation, followed by food and the kind of club culture you don’t find on a pickup field.

The San Francisco Soccer Football League
America’s oldest soccer league
The SFSFL was established in 1902 — older than the United States Soccer Federation, older than FIFA itself. For well over a century it has been the proving ground for Bay Area soccer: a promotion-and-relegation pyramid whose member clubs have lifted the U.S. Open Cup four times and sent players on to MLS, the NASL and beyond. Its spiritual home is Boxer Stadium in Balboa Park, San Francisco’s oldest soccer ground, where the league celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2026.
Club Marin Premier has spent more than thirty seasons in the league’s top two divisions — the last fifteen-plus of them in the Premier Division, week in and week out against the best amateur sides in Northern California. When you pull on the shirt, you’re stepping into 124 years of history.

Our story
Fifty years in the making
Club Marin wasn’t founded — it evolved. From a youth team so good it had to play against adults, through the Mill Valley club years, to a chance meeting outside a World Cup stadium in France that changed everything.
1976
The Corte Madera Lions. The first competitive youth team in Marin County, drawing a player from every high school in the county but one. Too good for local competition, they played grown men in Marin’s storied Mayflower League. When they scattered to college, they made a pact: reunite every Thanksgiving to honor those lost from Marin’s soccer community. In 2026, that game will be played for the 50th consecutive year.
1982
The Mill Valley years. Born inside the Mill Valley Soccer Club, the team faced some of the most competitive players and sides in the country in the years before Major League Soccer existed. The dream, shaped by time spent around European clubs, was already forming: build something modeled on the club culture of the world’s game — competition and community, inseparable.
1998
Nantes, France. Two Marin County soccer lifers — Mark Mackbee and Tighe O’Sullivan — cross paths outside a World Cup stadium. The electricity of the tournament, and hard reflection on the U.S. team’s performance, crystallizes into a conviction: the club system that develops players everywhere else in the world could be built at home.
1999
Club Marin is born. With the Mill Valley men’s team facing dissolution, Mackbee, O’Sullivan and Greg Bronshvag transform it into a true club. The vision from day one: a “cradle to grave” organization uniting players of all ages, with the men’s teams as the pinnacle of the pyramid.
2001
Charter member of US Club Soccer. Club Marin helps found the national organization, and through the 2000s builds international bridges — partnerships with the Spanish National Federation and C.F. Real Madrid (1999–2008) bring world-class ideas back to Marin.
2018
CSAN State Champions. The Premier side lifts the state title — the highest honor in Northern California amateur soccer — while the club competes nationally in beach soccer and grows to five adult men’s teams.
Today
Fifteen-plus straight years in the Premier Division. More than thirty seasons in the SFSFL’s top two flights, and a squad that keeps renewing itself with players who want more than a Sunday kickabout. The legacy is alive — and there’s a place in it for you.
